As a procurement solutions provider, suppliers are awarded places through a competitive tender or application process. The route for joining will depend on whether the opportunity is a framework, an open framework or a dynamic market.

How to become an awarded supplier

To be considered for a place on one of our procurement solutions, you will need to respond to a relevant tender or application opportunity when it is published. The opportunity documents will explain the requirements, timescales and how applications will be assessed. 

Understanding our procurement solutions 

The way suppliers can join differs depending on the type of procurement solution.

Closed frameworks 

A closed framework is awarded to one or more suppliers for a fixed period up to 4 years. Suppliers must tender when the framework is first published. Once it has been awarded, new suppliers cannot be added.

Open frameworks 

An open framework is a scheme made up of successive frameworks awarded on substantially the same terms. It can reopen at specified points during its lifetime, up to 8 years, giving new suppliers an opportunity to tender and existing suppliers an opportunity to retain their place. It is not continuously open, so suppliers will need to apply during a published reopening window and meet the requirements set out in the tender documents. 

Dynamic markets 

A dynamic market is a list of suppliers that have met the published conditions for membership. Unlike frameworks, a dynamic market remains open to new suppliers throughout its operation. Suppliers can apply to join at any time, although they must complete the relevant application process and meet the conditions for membership before they can participate in future contract opportunities run through the market.

Alternative opportunities

If a framework is already live and you are unable to join until renewal, you may wish to explore opportunities to work with existing awarded suppliers.

Many organisations develop delivery partnerships and subcontracting arrangements to support framework requirements.
